Electricity Supply Industry Field Days 2012 (July, 2012)

The Electricity Supply Industry Field Days was held at Coffs Harbour on 24th & 25th July and was hosted by Essential Energy. Many other major electricity authorities and government bodies were well represented with their own stands. A considerable number of industries were represented and demonstrated products and equipment.

Redmond Gary Australia has developed a transformer trailer in conjunction with Essential Energy. This trailer was displayed by Essential Energy as part of their heavy vehicle fleet. Although this trailer is one of the smallest pieces of equipment supplied by Redmond Gary Australia, it received enthusiastic response from within Essential Energy and other electricity authorities. The trailer features automatic lifting mechanism for lifting 16 and 25 kVA single phase transformers and 25kVA 3-phase transformers and can be towed behind a small vehicle. It also includes a bunded enclosure to transport damaged or leaking transformers back to the depot. This is very important as the environmental impact of oil spills is a significant responsibility and one that can easily be avoided by using this trailer. The trailer is not only suitable for transporting transformers, it can also be used for carrying cable drums weighing up to 1000kg and is a self-loading type.

We would like to thank Essential Energy for providing this equipment to demonstrate at the field day.
