ACTEW/AGL based in Canberra has accepted delivery of new design 3-Drum Winch. This machine has similar construction and footprint to the 10kN 3-Drum Winch supplied to many authorities throughout Australasia. The machine has been re-designed making it capable of being used as a standard 10kN 3-Drum winch or to operate one drum at 25kN line pull. This increases the versatility of the winch making it possible to be utilised for overhead and underground construction purposes.

The new machine was inspected by John Sheil, Fleet Support Officer and Michael Rosetta, Construction Manager. Operator training is scheduled for February, 2010 after which the machine will be fully commissioned and put into service.
