Four new generation bull wheel winches were specially manufactured for Energex. These machines featured radio remote with built-in display showing line pull, distance and speed. The units were also provided with an auxiliary set of controls at the winch. Controls are via switches and touch screen including diagnostic system and built in data logger. The information from the data logger can be easily downloaded onto laptop or USB.

In addition to the advanced control systems of these winches, they were also provided a fully interlocked guard system providing easy access to winch components via two doors on either side and a hinging cover over the bull wheel arrangement. The combination of a guard system and operation by radio remote vastly improves the safety and ease of operation of these machines.

The main storage drum has been provided with a disc brake to prevent run-on in the case the cable is being pulled out directly from a storage drum. The winches are designed to take 600m of non-rotating wire rope or 800m of fibre rope.

These winches have been delivered to Energex depots in the greater Brisbane region.
