Redmond Gary Australia attended the 2015 Connexis Annual Connection line mechanics and cable joiners competition, held in Hamilton, New Zealand. This was the fifth year that Redmond Gary attended the competition, as an exhibitor, this year the event returned to Hamilton from Christchurch and we were represented by David Weaver, Sales Manager and Darren Hoare, Customer Support Officer.

This competition represents the best of the best of New Zealand’s electricity authorities demonstrating strong teamwork and fierce competition. The competition was judged by their industry peers and emphasis was on safety, teamwork and attention to detail. The competition was held over three days from 6-8 October with 16 teams competing. This year teams consisted of females as well as males. This event gave Redmond Gary Australia a chance to meet our New Zealand based customers and an opportunity to display our comprehensive range of cable handling and access equipment.

Redmond Gary has always been warmly welcomed to this event and this year was no different. The competition is fiercely competitive. The interest from all network personnel regarding our equipment was very well received and commented on. The catering was great and the Paella was a hit with all day burgers also available.

Hamilton turned on the weather for the first two days with the last day a bit wet in the morning but turned out fine in the afternoon.

Redmond Gary received a few good requests for quotations from some of the North Island Authorities.

We have never been disappointed with the outcome of this trip since we have been exhibiting and hope this event will grow and be around for many more years to come.
