Lindsay Civil Utilities, based in Smeaton Grange, is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) that delivers level 1 & 2 contestable distribution work in and around Sydney. They have recently taken delivery of a Redmond Gary 35kN Bull Wheel Winch Trailer with all-angle fairlead arm and a 20kN Side Mount Cable Pusher.

The Bull Wheel Winch is designed for hauling underground cable through conduit and the all-angle fairlead makes it possible to haul the cable at any angle from the trailer. This versatile winch is ideal for use in restricted access areas such as narrow inner-city streets or locations where a normal winch cannot be placed.

The winch is supplied with a data logger and can be pre-set to not exceed the cable maximum line pull as specified by the cable manufacturer.

The Cable Pusher is used in conjunction with the Bull Wheel Winch to increase the length of cables that can be installed without adding additional tension on the cables. The combination of the two machines makes it possible to install longer cable lengths which results in less cable joins and a reduced the number of man holes that need to be constructed. This results in enormous savings on infrastructure costs for a project as well providing a more reliable system.

This unique equipment gives Lindsay Civil the capacity to deliver a project that other cable installers cannot manage.
