New Radial-Piston Hydraulic Motor Option for 1.5T Drum Stands – July 2023

The first unit has been supplied to ActewAGL in Canberra and is also equipped with a standard non-driven drum stand, together with a 415V electric power pack. The drum stands will be used in the warehouse to dispense job lengths of cable.

The new hydraulic motor has built-in counterbalance valves and offers improved starting torque. The design is modular and can be fitted to any of the current design 1.5T drum stands, manufactured after April 2017. The radial-piston motor module includes a manual clutch. When disengaged, the drum is able to freewheel. The spindle is provided with a drag brake with manual or hydraulic control as an option. The brake is designed to give a small amount of resistance when hauling cable with a winch to stop the drum from over spooling when the winch stops.
