This new design winch truck was requested to fulfil the requirements of Energy Australia working in restricted areas within the Sydney metropolitan area. The winch truck is specifically designed for tension stringing of overhead conductors, one at a time. The unit has a capacity of 10kN and is provided with split drum. The winch has the capacity of free-wheeling and can be driven in both directions.

The winch is provided with a drag brake to be used during free-wheeling operations and a park brake system which can hold the cable under tension. In addition to the winch, the truck is provided with storage capacity for a spare split drum and drum of cable weighing up to 1500kg with a diameter of 1200mm. The truck is also provided with suitable lifting equipment to load and unload winch drums and cable drums with the aid of the crane mounted at the back of the truck.
