FORCO is the Australian and New Zealand distributor for Ecoforst products made in Austria. Included in this product range are track-mounted T-WINCH models 10.2 and 30.2 using 20mm diameter and 26mm diameter steel wire ropes that need to be replaced onsite.

Redmond Gary Australia designed special compact 3T Drum Stands with petrol power packs, ramps, and lifting equipment. All the equipment can be stored on the drum stands for ease of handling with a forklift or crane onsite.

The powered drum stands will be used to replace the winch ropes onsite when they reach the end of their working life. The new drum stands make this normally time-consuming task easy and safe, which minimises downtime for FORCO customers’ high-cost operations.

The custom 3-tonne drum stands with hydraulic winding enable FORCO to wind the used rope onto a wooden reel as the T-WINCH ejects the rope ready to remove from site and recycle. The free spooling clutch system with manual disc brake allows for smooth winding from a wooden reel as the new rope is laid out on a road ready for the T-WINCH to pull it in under tension connected to a machine.

Critical to the design was portability and being able to store and transport the power pack within the drum stand to make a complete fork on fork off unit. The drum stands can be easily lifted on and off different forms of transport to reach the often remote working sites. FORCO’s service range is huge covering from Tasmania, up to Queensland, and across to Western Australia. FORCO utilises the existing pallet logistics network to move the drums stands between sites.
